Red Deer County council briefs
A number of local non-profits stand to benefit from several grant applications approved by Red Deer County council on Tuesday.
Marking the 15th year of the Capital Assistance Grants program, council approved $300,000 in Rural Community Facility Assistance Grants to be distributed to all 18 organizations who applied.
The program assists non-profit community groups and organizations in their capital projects such as repair, maintenance, or enhancement of their existing facilities, whether recreational, cultural or community, to enhance the quality of life of all Red Deer County residents.
Grants are between $1,000 and $100,000 with this year’s applications exceeding the $300,000 total by $23,499.67. Projects ranged from construction of outdoor skating rinks, to indoor renovations, painting, and more.
