There’s no doubt about it: the Red Deer Rebels are on a roll.

Coming into their Saturday night tilt with the visiting Prince Albert Raiders, the Red Deer Rebels had won four straight, outscoring their opponents 14-6.

That streak is now five after the Rebels — who are tied for the Central Division lead — took out the East Division’s last place team by a final score of 5-1.

The Rebels are now 8-2-0-0 in their past 10 games, and have won six of nine at home this season.

Saturday, Kalen Lind (5th) opened the scoring at 6:22 of the first, Hunter Mayo and Matteo Fabrizi lending a hand.

Ben King (13th) extended the lead to 2-0, with an assist to Arshdeep Bains, at 15:02 of the opening frame.

In the second, there was no scoring, and the teams traded late minor penalties with nothing doing.

Just 51 seconds into the third period, Red Deer’s Kai Uchacz (5th) scored to make it 3-0, assists to Christoffer Sedoff and King.

King (14th) then scored his second of the night at 11:49 to make it 4-0, Jhett Larson and Bains with the helpers.

The Raiders couldn’t stop the bleeding, as Uchacz (6th) would score again just 55 seconds later to make it 5-0 home team.

Unfortunately for goaltender Connor Ungar, the shutout wasn’t meant to be, as Evan Herman (4th) scored on the power play for PA at 17:10 to make it 5-1.

However, that was as close as the Raiders would come.

Ungar earned the win in net for Red Deer by stopping 28 of 29 shots faced, and improving to 6-1-0 on the season.

Red Deer went 0/3 with the man advantage, while PA was 1/4. Red Deer was outshot by their opponent 29-23.

Next up for the Red Deer Rebels is a date with the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place on Nov. 24.
