It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Priscilla Yvette Hughes (nee McFarlane) on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 81 years, with her children at her side. Mom was born at Sudbury, Ontario to parents Joe and Cecile McFarlane. There were many family vacations to follow which included returning home to show her children the Big Nickle Mine, Science North, the Pop Shop and spending time at Uncle Harvey’s Cabin. Her greatest joys in life came from her family and friends and of course her cats. She flirted with the title of ‘Crazy Cat Lady’ with her cat purse, cat vest and cat sweater, but the title she loved the most was ‘Gramma Cilla’. She would always be the first one to cheer on a dance recital, hockey game, ringette game or performance for one of her Grandchildren. Priscilla was very active in her community volunteering at the Innisfail Food Bank, playing cards at the senior center with friends and going on scrapbooking retreats. She enjoyed baking treats for her family and friends which included her famous Snow Cap cookies and chocolate covered peanut butter balls. Priscilla will be remembered by her three children, Janis (Earl), Karen and Brian (Chelsea), her six beloved grandchildren, Valerie (Kirby), Emily, Katie, Lev, Jena and Charlotte, her great grandsons, Chance and Mickey as well as her brother, Jerry and his family. If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to The Lending Cupboard, 7803 50 Ave #1, Red Deer, Alberta, T4P 1M8 or at www.lendingcupboard.ca. A Private Funeral Mass will be held.
