Benjamin Hoskin

Benjamin Hoskin passed away peacefully in Red Deer, with family at his bedside, on Saturday October 9th 2021.
Ben was predeceased by his wife Vivian in December of 2017.
He will be fondly remembered by his sons: Bill (Peggy), John, Don (Bonnie); six grandchildren: Megan (Darreck), Justin (Sarah), Tyler (Andrea), Julia (Trevor), Amy and Nathan; five great grandchildren: Rhys, Remi, Mackenzie, Ethan, and Harper; as well as extended family and friends.
Ben was born in the Edwell district, on the family farm. Ben served with the Royal Canadian Airforce in WWII and after the war he drove truck and also farmed near Crossfield.
He met and fell in love with Vivian, a pretty Lab Technician, when he was brought in to have a broken foot x-rayed. Ben and Vivian were married November 8, 1958. Not long afterwards, they started their life together at their farm north of Spruce View, where they farmed and raised their three boys. After 46 years on the farm, they retired to Red Deer.
Ben enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, family gatherings, and travelling. He also had a great love for horses and participated in mountain trail riding, historic cattle drives, and local parades.
