Buy an apple tree to help support Red Deer Hospice

Apple trees are symbols of love and healing, two things the community needs right now, say officials with the Red Deer Hospice Society.

Central Albertans can purchase an apple tree as a thoughtful gift or meaningful commemoration of a loved one, all while supporting end of life care in the community. The beautiful and hardy trees bloom in the spring and produce medium to large apples in the fall that are said to be great for fresh eating or baking.

Jerri Taylor, executive director at the Red Deer Hospice Society says it’s been a tough year, and they wanted to share an opportunity with their community that showed love and healing in a COVID friendly manner.

“We hope people take this opportunity to purchase a tree to brighten their yard, bring joy or even commemorate a loved one.”
