Nancy Ann Lind

Nancy Lind, of Bowden, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 84 years following years of fragile and declining health. Nancy Ann Jones was born on April 19, 1937 to Donald and Lottie Jones in Lubbock, Texas. After graduating from high school, she went on to study Education at Texas Tech University, where she was a founding member of the Texas Tech’s Rodeo Club. She taught middle school in Wyoming for several years, and then returned to Lubbock where she taught Texas history. Nancy had a zest for adventure and spent her summers exploring the world. Her travels included visits to Europe, Asia, and Australia, as well as following the rodeo circuits throughout the US and Canada. She a profound love and respect for all aspects of nature, especially gardening, and enjoyed her unique assortment of collections. During the summer of 1965, Nancy and friends made their way to the Calgary Stampede where she met Aksel Lind during the chuckwagon races. After several years of exchanging letters, Nancy and Aksel wed in Cuchara, Colorado in June of 1972 and returned to the family farm near Dickson, Alberta. They had two daughters, Lottie and Emma. They later resided in Red Deer County, Innisfail, and Bowden. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Aksel, and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters Lottie (John) Peppers and Emma Lind (Shane Engman), grandchildren (Hailey, Reed, Jackson, Aksel and Zach), and great-grandson (Lucas) and her brothers Donald L. Jones, Jr and Charles (Joyce) Jones and many dear friends.
