It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Beverlee Blanche (Happy) O’Sullivan on Wednesday June 30, 2021 at the home she loved in Joffre Alberta.
Beverlee was born in High Prairie Alberta and attended high school in Edmonton and there met the love of her life, John with whom she shared laughter, tears and adventures for over 60 years before he passed on in 2013. They were a team!
Together they raised their children while traversing across Canada and then later ventured further and met countless friends and companions around the world. They were loved where ever then went, whether it was in Malaysia or Millet, Calgary or Yemen or the many years they spent at Kino Bay in Mexico when they finally retired. They brought kindness and joy and laughter to all who had the good fortune of knowing them.
Beverlee was a great cook and an invite to the O’Sullivan’s was always a treat and often included feasts of Alberta beef, freshly flown in NS. Lobster or Bev’s renowned cabbage rolls and perogies. She was proud of her Ukrainian roots but quickly became adept at John’s Irish heritage and could whip up a very fine corned beef and cabbage. There would also be a chance of freshly caught salmon, whitefish, trout and sometimes marlin as both Bev and John were avid and very, very accomplished and competitive fishers. Many times, to John’s chagrin, Beverlee would snag the biggest catch of the day!
Besides being adept with a fishing pole, Beverlee was also an accomplished artist and had a real flair for ceramics and painting. She loved pandas and created numerous acrylics that adorned her walls and one of her great joys occurred when Noel took her to see the Panda exhibition in Calgary. She had live models to work from!
Left to mourn her passing is her daughter Lynda, son John and Sarah as well as son Noel. She also leaves her grandchildren, Brent, Daniel, Jerome, Shillelah, Brendan, Kegan and cherished great grandson River. In addition she will be remembered by her sisters in law, Sarah O’Sullivan Nixon and Wilhelmina Proulx and their families and will not be forgotten by her cherished canine companions who were always at her side, Kina and Arnold.
Beverlee was predeceased by her beloved John and son Kevin as well as her mother Lynn Banks, sister Sharon and Peg and Dan O’Sullivan. May they along with a choir of angels greet you as you arrive Beverlee!
We, who loved her, are reeling from this loss and will hold a celebration or gathering in the future. Cremation has been entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home in Red Deer.
Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand!
