Red Deer lawyer in running to be named one of Canada’s most influential

A Red Deer lawyer’s name is in the hat of nominees to be named one of Canada’s most influential.

The awards are run by Canadian Lawyer Magazine, and will name the Top 25 in Canada when all is said and done.

Donna Purcell, Q.C., Founder and Chief Innovative Officer of Donna Purcell Law, is nominated in the Changemakers category.

The category is for lawyers and judges who have shown leadership and innovation in areas of the profession such as diversity, legal technology, law firm and practice management, education, access to justice and so forth.

“With two grown daughters who intend to pursue careers in law, and knowing how difficult it is to achieve equality, diversity and inclusivity in the profession, I believe the profession has proven it is ready to pursue the disruptive innovation that can attract and retain more lawyers to serve clients through alternative service delivery models,” she says. “In July 2021, I established a fully cloud-based hybrid bricks-and-mortar/virtual law firm with offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer.”
