It is with great sadness the family of Kenneth Donald Webster announce his passing on June 22, 2021.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Beryl, son, Scott, sister, Linda Blixhavn (Tom), Killarney, Manitoba, sister-in-law Sandra Penny, Brandon, Manitoba, brother-in-law David Cantlon (Glenda), The Pas, Manitoba, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ken was predeceased by both his parents, Don and Ferne Webster, cousin Howard Flanagan, and brother-in-law Don Penny.
Ken was born in Crystal City, Manitoba on March 17, 1948. After completing his education, he joined the RCMP in Regina, Sask. in 1967.
After 9 years in the RCMP, Ken joined the Emergency Services in Red Deer, Alberta. At the time of his retirement, Ken was Fire Marshal in Red Deer City.
After retirement, Ken and Beryl spent 20 years travelling the United States in their motorhome and enjoyed winters in Arizona at their retirement resort.
Ken enjoyed and participated in many sports. His favourites were fishing, quading, hunting, camping, swimming, water skiing, slow pitch, golfing and pickleball.
Ken taught himself to play the guitar and loved to accompany sing-songs around the campfire.
Respecting Ken’s wishes there will not be a funeral service or memorial. That doesn’t rule out the possibility of a farewell party in Ken’s honour when socializing resumes after covid.
In the words of one of Ken’s favourite Country Western singers, George Strait, Ken always said, “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.” He certainly had a good time wherever he went.
Ken was a man with many talents and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
