Thomas Leo Edward ‘Tom’ Chamberlain passed away peacefully, with his loving wife of fifty-eight years and children by his side, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the age of 81 years. Tom was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan to Sylvia and Earl Chamberlain on April 4, 1940. He married the love of his life, Verna Jean McKain on July 20, 1963 at Kevisville, Alberta. After chasing rigs around, Tom and Verna settled in the Kevisville area for ten years. In 1980, they moved to their acreage north of Spruce View, Alberta. A few years later Tom started in the trucking business, which is still running today. Tom enjoyed rodeo, old time music, tinkering with antique tractors and camping with family and friends. He especially enjoyed trips to Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan and dancing at the famous ‘Danceland Hall’. Tom also liked watching the Toronto Blue Jays; travelling to Seattle, Washington twice and once to Toronto, Ontario. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play various sports, where he always had to have French fries! Whenever they travelled, Tom always had a keen eye for the ice cream spots!! Maple walnut being his favorite flavor. Tom will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Verna; his two sons, Joe (Mona) of Sylvan Lake, Alberta and Mike (Tammy) of Spruce View, Alberta; his daughter, Lora (Graham) of Spruce View, Alberta; his six grandchildren, Zach, Clayton, Riley, Austin, Emma and Hayes and his great granddaughter, Summer. He will also be deeply missed by his three brothers, Edwin (Pat) of Clairmont, Alberta, Don (Cathy) of Barrhead, Alberta and Neil (Heather) of Alhambra, Alberta; his two sisters, Susan (Ken) of Innisfail, Alberta and Betty of Denman Island, British Columbia; his sister-in-law, Janet of Innisfail, Alberta and his brother-in-law, Lanny of Kevisville, Alberta. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Tom was predeceased by an infant brother, Gilbert, a grandson, Braeden Chamberlain and his parents, Sylvia and Earl Chamberlain. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
