Rocky RCMP Report: May 28-June 3

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of May 28- June 3.

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

May 28

5:57 A.M. – Erratic driver observed in RMH, travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was described as a black CHEVROLET Impala with a partial plate of CCV.

8:31 A.M. – B&E reported to mailboxes at the Caroline Post Office.

11:12 A.M. – Report from an oil/gas company in Clearwater County advising of a set of gates stolen at a lease site. The bolts were removed from the posts.

2:04 P.M. – SNOWBEAR 4×8 black utility trailer stolen from a yard in Leslieville.

11:37 P.M. – Police recovered a stolen dirt bike after observing a suspicious vehicle with it on a lease site in Clearwater County. One adult male was arrested while the other known individual fled on foot. Charges are pending on both.

May 29

11:30 A.M. – RMH Crime Reduction Unit attended a crime hotspot in the southeastern side of Clearwater County and recovered a vehicle which had been reported stolen a month prior in Red Deer County. The alleged owner tried to provide a bill of sale but it was determined to be forged. An adult female was arrested for possession of stolen property and is facing a number of charges. Numerous vehicles and motorcycle parts were recovered. The investigation is continuing.

12:05 P.M. – Theft of a grey 2017 KIA Forte, with BC plates, from the gas station in Caroline.

6:21 P.M. – Theft of a 1979 Travelaire RV stolen from a camping area on SecHwy #591.

11:40 P.M. – Police arrested an adult male on an outstanding warrant and for breaching a Probation Order after ammunition was found in his possession. He was released to appear in Provincial Court in August.

11:52 P.M. – Report of a noisy party at a residence in RMH. Police attended and warned the homeowners.

May 30

6:56 A.M. – Complaint of someone pointing a firearm at another individual on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve. Under investigation.

3:24 P.M. – Theft of a 2003 CHEVROLET Avalanche, with Saskatchewan plates, stolen from a residence on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve.

May 31

00:35 A.M. – Complaint of an assault at a residence in Clearwater County. An adult male was arrested and charges are pending.

9:59 A.M. – Report of a stolen licence plate from a vehicle while parked at a RMH residence.

9:00 P.M. – Police stopped a vehicle on Hwy #11 in RMH after it was observed travelling well below the posted speed limit and swerving over the yellow lines. The young adult GDL driver failed the alcohol screening device and was given “Immediate Roadside Sanctions” which includes a fine, DL suspension, and the vehicle being towed.

June 1

11:20 A.M. – Theft of a lime green 2009 KAWASAKI Brute Force dirt bike taken from a rural property on Hwy #22

7:17 P.M. – 911 call of an assault with bear mace on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve. Under investigation.

June 2

8:13 A.M. – Call of 2 suspicious males hanging around a RMH hotel, looking into vehicle windows.

1:58 P.M. – Report of a home invasion on the Sunchild First Nations Reserve in which an individual was assaulted with a weapon. A 2018 silver Chevrolet Equinox was stolen. The matter is under investigation.

3:35 P.M. – 911 call of a disturbance on the O’Chiese First Nations Reserve. Two intoxicated individuals reported to be on the road threatening and wanting to fight others. Police attended and arrested one of the individuals.

10:24 P.M. – Complaint of 2 intoxicated males fighting at a golf course in Clearwater County. Police attended and arrested one person who was later released after sobering up.

June 3

9:35 A.M. – Theft of 4200 litres of diesel fuel from a lease site in Clearwater County.
