Man dead after officer-involved shooting on O’Chiese First Nation

Rocky Mountain House RCMP say a man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Saturday morning on O’Chiese First Nation.

Members initially responded at 9:37 a.m. to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence.

When they arrived, a news release says, they encountered an individual who went back into the home and closed the door.

It was confirmed shortly thereafter that the individual had outstanding warrants, thus police say they secured the area and took the steps necessary to obtain a warrant to enter the home.
