The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is continuing to seek tips from the public regarding this week’s fatal shooting in Red Deer.

It happened early Tuesday morning when Mounties responded to a 911 call at 4:42 a.m. to an area around 38 Avenue and 45 Street and located a deceased adult male on the road.

Police say the male was the victim of a gunshot wound.

Evidence gathered on scene leads RCMP to believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no risk to public safety.

Cpl. Laurel Scott with RCMP K Division says no arrests have been made, while the RCMP continue to gather evidence.

She adds, the name of the deceased adult male cannot be released at this time according to the provisions of the Federal Privacy Act.

Scott says if you have any information, no matter how insignificant you might feel it is, please call Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
