One of those deaths was a male in his 90s from the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Central Zone. Health officials say this death was reported on Jan. 23 and is linked to the outbreak at Seasons Camrose. The case included comorbidities.

In the city of Red Deer, there are currently 158 active cases of COVID-19 – down two from Saturday, while 1,589 have recovered – up 11 from Saturday. The number of COVID-related deaths in Red Deer remains at 18.

Coronavirus outbreaks in Red Deer are currently identified at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Etana Wells group home, Extendicare Michener Hill, a private group home, Points West Living, Love, Fun & Learning Day Home, Olymel, Red Deer Remand Centre, Walmart (South Location), Wonderflow School House, and Montair Aviation in Springbrook.

Throughout central Alberta, Red Deer County has 33 active cases – down one from Saturday and still one recorded death.

Sylvan Lake has 26 active cases – up eight from Saturday and still two recorded deaths.

Lacombe County has 20 active cases – up one from Saturday and still one recorded death, while the city of Lacombe remains with 21 active cases and still one recorded death.

Additionally, there are 78 active cases in Clearwater County (Rocky Mountain House) – up two from Saturday. There are 229 active cases in Ponoka County – up nine from Saturday, and still 10 recorded deaths. There are 22 active cases in Mountain View County – the same as Saturday.

The town of Olds meanwhile, has 12 active cases – the same as Saturday. Kneehill County has five active cases – down one from Saturday and still three recorded deaths from the virus. Stettler and County remain with five active cases and still two recorded deaths as of Sunday.

For local schools, COVID-19 Alerts remain in place for Ecole Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School and Ecole John Wilson Elementary School in Innisfail, both with 2-4 cases identified.

Elsewhere, there are 3,653 active cases of COVID-19 in the Calgary Zone, 3,299 active cases in the Edmonton Zone, 1,326 in the North Zone, 818 in the AHS Central Zone, 396 in the South Zone, and 19 additional active cases in unconfirmed locations.
