Emily Jean Dancause of Red Deer passed away January 2, 2021. Emily was a resident at Michener Hill Extendicare for six years. She passed away as a result of contracting the COVID virus.
She is survived by her daughters Elaine (Tom) Frayn and Janet Kolb; sister Sheila (Ken) Lux; and brother Russell Ennis. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and extended family members.
Mom was a loving, caring, loyal and trustworthy person. Family was her greatest joy and her greatest accomplishment. She loved life and had many friends. Her mission in life was to always be there for her family and love them all.
Our family gradually lost Mom to the indignity of dementia. We are saddened at her passing but will always remember the loving person she was and the memories we have of her. She is now at peace and in the loving arms of God and the ones who passed before her.
A private family memorial will be held for Emily at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the pediatric unit at the Red Deer Regional Hospital by mail at Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, 3942 – 50A Avenue, Red Deer AB, T4N 4E7 (make cheque out to “Red Deer Regional Health Foundation” and write “pediatric unit” on the memo line of the cheque), or online here (write “for pediatric unit” in the “additional information” box), or another charity of your choice.
Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
