It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Mary Horst of Red Deer, Alberta at home on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Linda was born on August 13, 1947 Welland, Ontario. She was raised in Fort Erie, Ontario and lived in Red Deer, Alberta for the last forty years. Linda did not graduate from High School; as she chose to be a wife and mother. She was the best mom any one could have, and was a true friend to us. Linda was a faithful Christian and went to the Salvation Army Church every Sunday. She kept us all in line with Our Lord. Now she is in the arms of Our Lord. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and family, Tammy (Ron) Tweedle (Haley and Zoe Plato); her sons, Barry Plato (Tammy Wheeler) and Ray Plato (Wanda Luckiw); her four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Linda will also be sadly missed by her brother, Kevin (Christine) Atkinson and her sister-in-law, Laraine Atkinson; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Linda was predeceased by her mother, Mary Atkinson, a granddaughter, Jennine Marie and a brother, Walter Atkinson. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Linda’s honor may be made directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada at www.cysticfibrosis.ca or to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca.
