Paish, David Bruce
December 9, 1936 West Wickham, Kent, England
November 2, 2020 Nakusp, BC, Canada
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Paish. David slipped away peacefully with his wife of 62 years, Yvonne and his three children, James, Tina and Teresa and sister in law Linda Golds by his side.
David and Yvonne found their forever home with a daring purchase of land in the neighbourhood of Bayview, Nakusp, BC along the Arrow Lakes in 1985. Upon retirement in 1998 they built their home with the help of their son Jamie and moved full time from Red Deer to Nakusp.
David loved to fish, produced fine wood work, volunteered in the community and was an avid crib player at the Legion. He and Yvonne travelled throughout North America enjoying their retirement years. David was always at his happiest when any of his seven grandchildren: Christifer, Jared, Rylee, Callie, MacKenzie, Brooke, and Zachary, were visiting.
David leaves behind his immediate family, his expected great grandchild, and his sister Audrey Sole of Red Deer and extended family in England and Canada to celebrate his life.
David was a proud reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces, having risen to the rank of Major and served two Lieutenant Governors of Alberta as their Aide-de-Camp.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in David’s name to The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20, Box 157, Nakusp, BC, Canada, V0G 1R0.
