It’s with heavy hearts that the family of Loyal “Smitty”, “Daddio”, “Pops”, “Pappy”, “G-Pappy” Smith announce his passing late Sunday October 25th night at the Red Deer Regional Hospital after a long fight with COPD.
Where he’s gone, he’s breathing easy and laughing heartily just like the good ‘ol days.
A celebration of his life will take place in July 2021, with details to come.
Smitty’s family would like to thank the staff at Pines Lodge, the Red Deer Regional Hospital and all the family & friends who’ve helped him along the way. Additional thanks to his PIT family and Brownie. Special thanks to John Raymes who was indispensable over the last several years.
Loyal will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Tobrina, Jode (Sheri), Shailynn (Runhildr), Lacey (Mike); two grandchildren, Scarlett & Hazel, whom he called his little gurkles; his siblings Harry and Dave; and countless friends.
