Mrs. Linda Haviland (nee Scoggins) of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with multiple health issues at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 71 years. Linda was born at Windsor, Ontario on May 12, 1949, the eldest of four children. Her family lived in Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario, before settling in St. Clair Beach, Ontario, as a teen. She attended Belle River High School. Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; who was affectionately known as Oma, by her grandkids and all their friends. Her love of family was apparent to all and she did not lose this through her final weeks. Linda found the strength to smile and laugh with everyone, even through the difficult times. She was married to her best friend, Bruce Haviland for forty-nine and one half years. They had two amazing children, whom they both love very deeply. Linda was loved by all and will be missed dearly. She will now go on to be our very own Guardian Angel. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bruce; her son, Kyle and his wife, Josee; as well as their children, Chloé, Autumn and Hayley and her son, Shawn and his wife, Laura and their children, Justin, Ellie and Carter. She will also be sadly missed by numerous other family members and dear friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Walter ‘Bud’ and Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (nee Fox) Scoggins. A Private Family Service was held. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Linda’s honor may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation of Canada at www.kidney.ca.
