William (Bill) Procyshen
Born: 13th March, 1928 in Regina, SK
Died: 29th August, 2020 in Red Deer, AB
Bill was born in Saskatchewan on March 13th, 1928. He lived in an orphanage until he was 9 years old, he moved from home to home. His dream growing up was to be adopted but sadly, this did not happen. Bill had to grow up fast and started working at the age of 14 years old but later married his wife at 22 years old. Bill started his own family! He worked as a Ford Parts Man for 30 years but drove a Chevy. Bill’s greatest achievement was becoming a Parts Man. He did not need a book to tell him which mechanical parts were which! At the age of 50, Bill retired early. During his retirement, he worked part-time at various places, at one point he was a mechanic. He took some time to travel to the Yukon and Hawaii. While living at the Royal Oak, he enjoyed seeing his friends and family.
Bill was predeceased by Marge Procyshen (2004) and Louise Whitehead Procyshen (2018). Survived by son Larry (Pat) and daughter Valerie (Len) and 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Some advice Bill would give would be:
“Marriage is a two way street”
“Take your time going, but hurry back”
“It’s not what you do, but how you do it”
“Money isn’t everything, but it sure helps”
The family wishes to acknowledge the care shown to Bill while residing at the Royal Oak Village, Lacombe Hospital and Michener Extendicare.
Donations in his name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
