Red Deer RCMP release photos of vehicle suspected in fatal hit & run

Mounties in Red Deer have released photos of the vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit and run collision with a male pedestrian over the weekend between Red Deer and Blackfalds.

The collision happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 2A north of Red Deer, near the railroad crossing.

“Red Deer RCMP are now able to release multiple photos of the suspect vehicle, in hopes that the public will be able to assist in locating the vehicle and driver,” police said in a release.

An updated vehicle description has also been provided:

• Black or dark blue 2000-2006 GMC Yukon SUV

• Truck was hauling a flat deck trailer with a blue scooter on it.

RCMP say the last known direction of travel of the suspect vehicle was westbound on Range Road 391 towards C&E Trail.
