Red Deer College gets $5M for infrastructure renewal
Red Deer College is getting $5 million from the province for capital maintenance and renewal.
In a release, the province says the funding will go towards upgrading and replacing a variety of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including heating, ventilation and cooling, as well as water and sewage systems.
The project, part of the $10 billion infrastructure spending portion of Alberta’s Recovery Plan, will create about 28 jobs.
“With this funding, government is not only ensuring post-secondary students and staff continue to have high-quality campus experiences, we are also creating work opportunities for contractors and skilled tradespeople in the Red Deer community,” said Advanced Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides.
