Hayden William Smith of Red Deer, passed away on June 24, 2020 at the age of 29 years as a result of underlying health concerns. To know Hayden, either from his formative years in Lacombe, or his more recent years in Red Deer, was to know these facts to be true. Hayden was handsome, charming and had a mischievous smile that could only be adored. He was fearless, resilient and physically tough. Which was fortunate as he was also clumsy in a way that you usually only see in slapstick movies. Hayden was creative. Which would explain his love of music, reading and all things art (tattoos especially). He also enjoyed playing video games (which he excelled at) and playing poker (which he did not). Much to the liking of his friends. Hayden had a lot of great attributes and was incredibly popular. The one fact that stands out above all others in Hayden’s life is that he was undoubtedly loved by many. Unfortunately he was also, undoubtedly, a drug addict. Like many addicted to narcotics, Hayden could be obsessive and manipulative. His desperation would at times lead him to stealing and other criminal acts. While this did not define him, it did cost him many relationships with those who loved him and likely many years of his life. Hayden, like those reading this, was imperfect. Imperfect and loved. Hayden is survived by his father and brother who would like to thank those who have given their love and support to Hayden over the years. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
