Motorcyclist killed in Highway 11A crash

A 55-year-old man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding left the road and crashed into a wooded area near Sylvan Lake.
RCMP say it was just after 12:30 a.m. Monday when they responded to a 911 report of a motorcycle collision on Highway 11A. RCMP and EMS attended the location and determined that the male driver of the motorcycle was deceased on scene.
“Two motorcyclists were travelling on Highway 11A when one of the riders, for unknown reasons, suddenly veered off the road into a treed area,” RCMP said in a release.
The investigation into the fatal crash continues but police say no further updates are expected.
