Raymond Alonzo "Teekie" Mason

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond “Teekie” Mason after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Rimbey Hospital in Rimbey, Alberta, at the age of 85 years.
Teekie will be remembered by the soothing music he made for many years in the Rocky Mountain House and Caroline areas, where he spent his life and raised his family.
Teekie was predeceased by his parents Alonzo and Dorothy Mason of Rocky Mountain House; brothers Ralph, Frank, Jack and Earl Gray; sisters Manty Mason, Ilene Mason and Doreen Salmon; son James “Rosco” Mason; grandson Steven Barry Mason; and granddaughter Justine Cymone Cochrane.
Teekie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carrie Mae Mason. He is also survived by his sisters Doris Callan, Edna Mason (Bill); sons Jack (Dianne) of Edmonton, Alvin (Maryanne) of Rocky Mountain House; daughters Kathy (John) Zirri of Blackfalds, Marlene (Dale) Larson of Caroline, Penny Mason (Roger) of Rocky Mountain House, and Judy Mason (Harvey) of Fort St. John, B.C. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date to due to COVID-19.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation can be made to the Palliative Care Society, Rimbey, Alberta, in honour of Raymond Mason: Alberta Hospice Palliative Care Association, #110, 105-12 Ave. SE, Calgary AB, T2G 1A1.
