We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our mother Leona, on Monday, June 8th, 2020. Although it is always difficult to let a loved one go, we were grateful that she passed away peacefully, on her own terms, and in her own bed, with her two daughters by her side. Left to mourn are her daughters Marlee (Marin) and Kevin Maguire, Michelle Marin and Brent Warner, and granddaughter Marin (Maguire) and Dallon Todd. At 82 years young she is predeceased by her husband Marcel Marin and son Guy Marin and her siblings Marlene, Clinton, Mervalene, and Kevin Rivalin. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Roland (Doreen) Rivalin, Edgar (Pam) Rivalin, Jacqueline Mazur and Sherralene (Neil) Mercer.
Although she grew up in The Pas, Manitoba, she lived the last forty-three years in Red Deer, a city that she loved. She will be remembered for her kindness to all and unwavering commitment to her family. Even though she had many hardships and illness in her life, she always showed a positive attitude. It is comforting knowing she is resting in peace.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the Aspen Ridge Lodge staff and residents who made her life so enjoyable these last couple of years. Also, special thanks to Dr. Prudence Wu and the Alberta Home Care team who provided her healthcare.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions no memorial service is planned at this time. Her charity of choice was Diabetes Canada.
