Pay what you can or nothing at all

Free BBQ for Drayton Valley community dinner

Jun 16, 2020 | 11:20 AM

Drayton Valley residents will be able to take part in a free BBQ dinner tonight for this month’s Community Dinner.

After two months of delivering pizzas to people’s doors, the Drayton Valley Community Foundation will be holding a drive-through pick-up BBQ dinner at the Omniplex parking lot from 5:30 to 7:00.

The menu for the “pay what you can or nothing at all” dinner includes burgers, potato salad, and a choice of drink. Veggie burgers are available upon request.

People are asked to enter the Omniplex parking lot from 49th Street and exit on 45th Avenue.

To respect physical distancing rules, people are asked to stay in their vehicles and public washrooms will not be available. Tailgating in the parking lot will be permitted as long as distancing rules are followed. There will also be a line available for walk-up orders at the BBQ for those without a vehicle.

The Drayton Valley Community Foundation is sending a thank you to the Fersch Family for sponsoring this month’s dinner and for grilling the food.
