Mrs. Helen Christie ‘Nellie’ Neis

Mrs. Helen Christie ‘Nellie’ Neis of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the age of 96 years. Nellie was born on September 7, 1923 in Portsoy, Scotland, to Maggie and William ‘Piper’ Wilson. The family immigrated to Canada in 1927 and settled in the Delburne Area. Nellie met Ed and they were married in 1950. After living in Delburne for several years, they moved to Red Deer. Nellie is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Debbie (Bruce) Marriott; her sons, Clint (Lesley), Doug (Debbie), and Brian (Brenda); her eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Kath Leuwer, and numerous other relatives. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed in 2006; a grandson, Mark Mariott in 2006; her four brothers and three sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Aspen Ridge, for the care given to Mom over the past three years. Due to the Covid-19 situation, no Service will take place at this time.
