It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Dale Brian Von Hagen, at his home, on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the age of 89 years. Dale was born in Minto, Manitoba to Dude and Hazel Von Hagen in 1930. He enjoyed a lifelong passion for woodworking, reading and watching John Wayne Movies. The last years of Dale’s life were filled with the amazing presence of his caregivers; who gave him their time and their humor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alma and Kate; as well as Andy LeBlanc, for his selfless giving, endless patience and friendship with Dale, over the last twenty years. We would also like to thank the Timberstone Mews Staff for the loving care they showed Dale and to Dr. McIntyre for his wonderful compassion. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Kern and Mark; and his four grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah, Nathan and Brenna. Dale was predeceased by his loving wife, Joy and a daughter, Tracey. A Public Graveside Memorial Service will be held at the Red Deer Cemetery, 3830 – 55 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. For those of you wishing to share a story of Dale, or some kind words, there will be an opportunity to do so during the Memorial Service. At this time, during the current Covid-19 situation, all social distancing guidelines will be followed; so all attendees will be able to stay safe and be comfortable. If desired, Memorial Donations in Dale’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca
