May 3: 96 new cases, one death and 179 recoveries

Alberta is reporting 96 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours for a total of 2,713 to date.

One more person has passed away raising the death toll to 95. That case was in Calgary.

Meantime, another 179 people have recovered.

Central Zone is even at 88 cases confirmed, while Red Deer is steady at six active cases and 30 recoveries.

More than 152,000 people have been tested in Alberta, with another 3,728 tests done since yesterday. A total of 161,245 lab tests have been completed.

According to data at covid19stats.alberta.ca, May 2 and 3 are the first consecutive days the province has had less than 100 cases daily since April 12 and 13.

Additionally, the current average age for COVID-19 cases not hospitalized is 41 years.

The average age of those in hospital is 62, and the average age of those in ICU is 60. The average age of those who’ve passed away is 82.

There are currently 89 people in hospital, 19 of which are in the intensive care unit, the same totals as yesterday according to revised data.

South:1,075 cases, 5 deaths

Edmonton 504 cases, 12 deaths

North: 221 cases, 15 deaths

Central: 88 cases, 1 death

Unknown: 36 cases, 0 deaths
