Red Deer RCMP thanks its volunteers

Apr 22, 2020 | 7:40 PM

Red Deer RCMP would like to thank the dozens of volunteers who give their time, knowledge and skills to serve our community.

“On behalf of everyone at the Red Deer RCMP, we sincerely thank all of our volunteers and the contributions they make to our community,” said Sgt. Karyn Kay. “Volunteering operations are temporarily suspended while we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic but we look forward to working with our volunteers again in the future.”

Last year, approximately 120 people volunteered with the following RCMP-sponsored organizations or programs:

· Central Alberta Crime Prevention Centre

· Citizens on Patrol

· Crime Stoppers

· Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

· Neighbourhood Watch

· RCMP Auxiliaries

· Victim Services

Tonight’s volunteer appreciation evening is cancelled and Red Deer RCMP are looking at options to honour volunteers at a later date.
