Anthony ‘Toby’ Schille, beloved husband of Louise Schille (nee Miller), passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the age of 92 years. Toby was born on February 1, 1928 in Scott, Saskatchewan, to Ludwig and Elizabeth (nee Wald) Schille. At the age of fifteen, Toby moved with his family to Vancouver to continue his schooling, as well as working in the shipyards. He left British Columbia to work on construction projects in the Northwest Territories, Edmonton, Alberta and back to North Battleford, Saskatchewan; where he built his first house at the age of eighteen. Eventually, Toby moved to Calgary; where he met the love of his life, Louise, in 1950. They married November 15, 1952 and started raising a family. In the early family years, Toby worked at the Air Base at Lincoln Park, in South West Calgary. He left there to join Commonwealth Construction, where he enjoyed a very successful career as an Estimator, and eventually a Construction Manager, retiring in 1988. Toby and Louise relocated to the Olds area; where they continued to enjoy life on the banks of the Little Red Deer River, west of Bowden. From there, to the north end of the Olds Highlands Golf Course, and eventually into Olds, where they have lived for the past ten years. Toby was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and curler and loved to spend time with his family and friends, enjoying the outdoors. His favourite hobby was wood working, constructing many beautiful pieces of furniture. Toby will be very deeply missed by his loving wife, Louise; his sons, Colin (Gina), Todd (Jane), Grant (Tina) and Robert (Fay); his daughter-in-law, Eve; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Henrietta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Toby was predeceased by a son, Lorne; his sisters, Mary, Eve, Irene and Hilda and his brothers, Nels and Ramon.
