It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Blair Grahn, loving son, brother and father on Friday, April 10, 2020 at the age of 51 years. David was born on September 5, 1968, in Red Deer, Alberta to Margaret and Ernie Grahn and spent most of his adult life in Calgary, Alberta. He grew up in Red Deer and graduated with honors at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School. Like most Red Deer natives, David grew up with a love for sports, notably hockey and baseball, with the latter being his greatest passion. He was known for his quick wit, his ever present smile and his humorous sarcasm. David will be deeply missed by his children, Blair and Bethany of Calgary; his mother, Margaret Grahn of Red Deer; his brothers, Rod of Linden, Grant (Colleen) of Sundre, Neil (Karen) of Edmonton and Darcy (Darlene) of Red Deer. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. David was predeceased by his father, Ernie Grahn. A Private Family Interment will be held and David will be laid to rest with his father. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in David’s honor may be made directly to your local Mental Health Association at www.reddeer.cmha.ca. We would like to say, especially in this “new world” we are in, if you are struggling or need someone to talk to, please reach out and know that someone will be there.
