Mr. Howard Ray Pearson

Mr. Howard Ray Pearson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away, after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 72 years.
Howard was born in Red Deer, Alberta to Annie (nee Anderson) and Ernest Pearson, and was the younger brother to Phyllis (Eric) Johanson. Howard grew up on the farm and had a tough childhood, losing his father at the tender age of fifteen. He attended Canadian University College for one year; where he met his best friend for life, Robert Weich. Howard started pipelining, followed by a Welder’s Apprenticeship at McLevin’s Welding; which remained his career for the rest of his working life. He worked in every corner of Alberta and surrounding Provinces over the following four decades. Over the years, he helped numerous young people become welders, many of whom remained friends. He was also a member of the Al Azhar Shriners.
He married Linda Pearson at the young age of twenty-one; and in subsequent years they had two children, Jason (Rhonda) Pearson and Melissa (Shane) Sorsdahl. His pride and joy was the time he spent with his five grandchildren, Eleanor, Cormick, Annie, Hugh and Owen, who already miss their Papa dearly.
Howard had a big heart and was quite a character. He loved to laugh and was a master of practical jokes up until the time he became sick. It is with certainty that he is back to his old antics, playing jokes, bragging about his grandkids, and riding motorcycles with the sound of his laughter trailing behind him.
A small Private Family Memorial Service will be held, with plans for a Celebration of Life, at a later date.
