It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. James William ‘Bill’ Cyr, with his wife, daughter and grandson by his side, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Bill was born in Pictou County, Nova Scotia and resided in Red Deer, Alberta. Bill, by Trade, was a plumber and pipefitter. He will be very deeply missed by his loving wife, Viola ‘Bydie’; his daughters, Victoria Cyr, Stacey Cyr (Danny) and Bydie Cyr; his grandchildren, Dakota Cyr, Travis Campbell, Danika Cyr, Toni Cyr, Harley Cyr and Lane Cyr and his great grandchildren, Antonio Newton, Azariah Cyr and Kayden Cyr. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Charlotte (Bill) Baxter and Donna (Donnie) Batiste and his brother, Paul (Donna) Cyr; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis Bonvie; his father, Edward Cyr; a brother, Norm Cyr and a grandson, Levi Cyr. Flowers are welcomed by the family. A Private Family Viewing will be held. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the family’s cottage in Pictou County, at a later date.
