Alberta Fishing Education Program now available for free

The Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association (AHEIA) is making its eight-module Alberta Fishing Education Program available online for free.

A non-profit, the organization says its program complements new sport fishing regulations, and is being made free to everyone due to the fact so many people are self-isolating.

“Given the current set of circumstances everyone is dealing with, we feel now is the perfect time to release the Alberta Fishing Education Program for free, so that all Albertans – young and old – can take advantage of this extra time they may have found themselves with while they self-isolate or quarantine at home away from school and work,” says Robert Gruszecki of the AHEIA.

The program is the only one of its kind offered in North America, a release says.

It’s aim is to provide essential education about fishing in Alberta, but also to provide confidence through understanding of how to responsibly enjoy the outdoors.
