New details for participants in cancelled 2020 Woody’s Marathon

The following is a message from the race director regarding the impacts of COVID-19 on the 2020 Woody’s Marathon/Half/10k/5k.

Over the last few days the Red Deer Marathon Society has received many, many emails from runners, community partners, vendors and sponsors regarding our cancellation of the 2020 Woody’s Marathon. We are truly grateful for the interest, passion and commitment of everyone to our race.

Many have expressed concern and frustration that registration fees could not either be deferred to next year or refunded. Your voices have been heard.

All runners who are registered for this year’s race will have their registration deferred to next year (2021). For those runners who require a refund please email us at reddeermarathonsociety@gmail.com.

If you require a refund please let us know by email by June 30, 2020

Please note that if you purchased a t-shirt it will not be refunded but rather be deferred to 2021 along with your registration. If you want to be refunded for your t-shirt please email us and let us know.

The Red Deer Marathon Society is a non-profit group that is run by Volunteers who have families, jobs and other life commitments. Like yourselves we are wanting everyone to remain safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

Once again thank you for your patience and understanding. We remain hopeful that the public health risk associated with COVID-19 will improve. We encourage everyone to follow the lead of Alberta Health Services, the Public Health Agency of Canada along with all other health organizations.

We hope to see you again in 2021.
