Doug Bos resigns from Innisfail town council

Innisfail town council will be holding a special meeting Monday night to discuss how to move forward after the resignation of one of its councillors.

Following council’s meeting on Monday, Doug Bos presented his letter of resignation to Innisfail CAO Todd Becker, according to a media release from the Town. His resignation is effective immediately, as per provisions of the Municipal Government Act (161.1)

Town officials say Bos cited wanting to dedicate more time to his business as the reason for his decision to resign, especially in light of recent economic developments.

Mayor Jim Romane, on behalf of council, thanked Bos for his service to the community and wished him well in all his future endeavours.

“During his time as a councillor, Bos has proven himself to be a hard-working and dedicated individual who always kept in mind the best interests of his fellow citizens,” said Romane. “Councillor Bos’s input will be missed. His contributions to council’s discussions were always based on his interest in seeing Innisfail prosper.”

Monday’s special council meeting takes place at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, and will be held in place of the Agendas & Priorities (A&P) meeting that was initially scheduled at that time.
