Suspects in March 2019 murder in Grandview to be tried separately
Two people charged in a Red Deer homicide last year will now have their charges dealt with separately.
On Feb. 28, a preliminary hearing was to take place in Red Deer provincial court for both Quentin Lee Strawberry, 38, and Jennifer Lee Caswell, 38, of Red Deer to see if their case has enough evidence to go to trial.
However, the Crown informed court on Friday that they wish to separate Caswell’s charges from Strawberry’s and have the two dealt with separately.
Both Caswell and Strawberry faces charges of second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm in the death of 45-year-old Joseph Junior Alfred Gallant on Mar. 29, 2019.
