Rebels fall 5-3 in Kamloops
Several times this season the Red Deer Rebels have learned that you can’t let up before the game is over if you hope to string together wins.
Class was in session Friday night in Kamloops as the Blazers scored twice in the third period to earn a 5-3 win over the Rebels in front of 3638 fans at the Sandman Centre.
Under a minute into the game, Red Deer was put onto the penalty kill when captain Ethan Sakowich flipped the puck over the glass for a delay of game call. The Blazers wasted no time when Orrin Centazzo redirected in a Zane Franklin pass for his 37th of the year only 11 seconds into the powerplay.
The Rebels got their first powerplay opportunity when Cam Hausinger had a breakaway when was slashed, drawing the call.
