Rocky RCMP Report Feb 7-12

This is a report released to the media from the Rocky Mountain House (RMH) RCMP giving a brief description of various crimes and call-ins, both solved and unsolved throughout the community between the dates of February 7- 12

Not all crimes reported are listed in this report.

February 7

2:21 A.M. – Complaint of fraud in RMH as complainant advised he met a female on-line and now she is trying to gain access to his bank accounts after he gave her the passwords. Advice given, including to contact bank ASAP.

10:31 A.M. – Police attempted to stop a vehicle on the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve, however, the vehicle fled but then got stuck at the end of the dead-end road. An adult male suspended driver was arrested for being impaired while under the influence of drugs. The vehicle was towed. Charges are pending for a future court date.

11:33 A.M. – Complaint of identity fraud as complainant advised that someone had attempted to rent a piece of machinery in his name and now he has received a debit card for which he did not apply for. Under investigation

11:24 P.M. – 911 call advising that 2 suspects were seen on camera stripping copper and electrical lines at an oilfield facility in Clearwater County. Culprits fled in a light colored pickup truck, prior to police arrival.

8:37 A.M. – B&E reported to a senior’s retirement facility parkade in RMH. The culprits broke into the back door and rifled through a number of vehicles.

February 8

2:08 P.M. – Truck & SUV broken into overnight at a residence in RMH. $40 cash stolen.

February 9

11:31 A.M. – Theft of a ladder from a compressor site on Southfork Road in Clearwater County.

2:25 P.M. – Report of an intoxicated male passed out in the ATM area of a local RMH bank. Police attended and arrested the individual who was released when he sobered up. No charges.

February 10

3:48 P.M. – Call of an intoxicated male sitting outside a local RMH bank, asking for money while holding open liquor. Police attended and requested EMS to assist with the highly intoxicated individual who was transported to the hospital.

4:22 P.M. – Report of a garage broken into in RMH and a vehicle’s window smashed.

5:54 P.M. – Report of a rear window of a vehicle shot out by BB pellets over the weekend while parked at residence in RMH.

8:59 P.M. – Complaint of an assault at an apartment complex in RMH after the door was kicked in by a number of males. Under investigation.

February 11

9:20 A.M. – Report of a parcel stolen off a doorstep at a residence in RMH. Under investigation.

4:04 P.M. – Police stopped a taxi in RMH and arrested the passenger who was wanted for assault. Upon being searched, a loaded sawed off 12 gauge shotgun was located along with counterfeit making instruments and stolen property. Numerous charges have been laid. He was released after a Judicial Interim Release hearing to appear in RMH Provincial Court at a later date.

6:29 P.M. – Report of 2 intoxicated individuals causing a disturbance at a gas station in Nordegg. Police attended and arrested them. They were released when they sobered up.

February 12

11:19 A.M. – Licence plate stolen off a vehicle in Caroline overnight.
