Lacombe Police Service targeting school bus offences

LACOMBE- The Lacombe Police Service would like to remind motorists to be vigilant when school buses are on the road.

Repeated incidents of motorists failing to stop and passing school buses illegally have increased.

School buses cannot be passed from either direction when red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.

The fine for such an action will cost you $543 and six demerits.

“The Lacombe Police will be targeting offences in regards to school buses in the coming weeks”, states Constable Vaughan Bleasdale. “The safety of our children is everyone’s responsibility, we are asking that motorists watch for school buses, and more importantly children getting on and off, as children are not always watching for traffic.”
