Semi rollover closes northbound QE II Highway at Innisfail

Major traffic delays are occurring south of Red Deer this hour as a result of a collision on the QE II Highway.

According to 511 Alberta, the collision on the northbound lanes, north of Innisfail near Township 362, happened at approx. 2:30 p.m.

Detours are in effect. Drivers are advised to use Highway 2A as an alternate route.

Callers to our newsroom say the crash involves a semi that has rolled over.

“Normal traffic flow is not expected to resume for several hours,” Innisfail RCMP said in a media release shared at 4:25 p.m.
