Red Deer firefighters annual Christmas tree pick-up

RED DEER- Firefighters will once again provide voluntary Christmas tree pick-up service to Red Deer homes.

Residents can place trees, with decorations and stands removed, on their front lawn for pick-up beginning January 6.

“Christmas tree pick-up is not funded by The City of Red Deer and we rely on donations to keep this annual campaign alive. With the increase in artificial trees, our donations have rapidly declined over the last ten years,” states firefighters spokesman Dan Henschel.

“On behalf of the Red Deer Firefighters and Local 1190, we thank all residents for their continued support.”

Donations to the Red Deer Firefighters Children’s Charity can be made directly to the firefighters picking up the trees, or mailed using the pre-addressed envelope left in resident’s mailboxes.
