Mrs. Stella Maris McInnis

Mrs. Stella Maris McInnis passed away peacefully at Bethany Sylvan Lake, Sylvan Lake, Alberta on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Stella was born in Preston, England; the fourth of four children. Stella immigrated to Canada, “her new life across the pond”. She met and married her husband, Densil ‘Bud’ McInnis, and they were married at Saint-Jean, Quebec in 1965. They lived in Saint John, New Brunswick; where she received her two Teaching Degrees from the University of New Brunswick. Stella wrote two autobiographical books, “After The Lights Go On Again” and “Her New Life Across The Pond”. She volunteered as a VIP for the Canada Summer Games and the World Chess Festival, was a Chairperson of the Education Committee and volunteered for MADA. She moved to Sylvan Lake, Alberta in 2000 and Stella was well known around town, for her dogs. Stella will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-four years, Bud; her sons, Craig and Michael and two granddaughters. Stella was predeceased by her two brothers and a sister.
