Joseph David "Dave" Chiasson

Joseph David “Dave” Chiasson of Red Deer AB, passed away peacefully at his home on April 29, 2018 at the age of 74 years. Dave was born in New Waterford NS and raised in Sydney NS. At the age of 18 years, Dave joined the Armed Forces in 1962 as a “Photo Tech”. Throughout his career, Dave was stationed at various locations across Europe and Canada. Dave’s interest in camera’s and photography continued into his retirement as he grew and maintained an extensive and impressive camera collection. Another hobby Dave greatly enjoyed was woodworking. He lived a full life and was loved and respected by those who knew him. He will be missed by family, extended family and friends. Dave is survived by his wife Pat; son Charles; step-son Grant; daughter Nancy; step daughters Sandra, Jacqueline and Geri-Lyn; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Fred and two sisters’ Jane and Claudette Gray as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Sophie Anne and Simon Charles and his first wife Lorna (nee Marcoux). In following with Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial was held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 202, 5913 – 50 Ave, Red Deer AB T4N 4C4.
