It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. John Andrew Kellar announce his passing at Villa Marie Covenant Care in Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, October 26, 2018 at the age of 96 years. John was born in High River, Alberta on August 2, 1922 to parents, Pete and Mamie Kellar. Soon after, the family moved to Rosebud, Alberta. When John was seven years old, they took the long trek northward to Fabyan and later to Northeast of Irma, Alberta, where his brother, Lawerence now lives. For many years, John spent the winters in Lumber Camp. In 1943, he joined the Army, where he met the love of his life, Eileen. In January of 1946, he came back home, and he and Eileen were married on April 10, 1946. Soon thereafter, they bought a farm, Northwest of Wimborne, Alberta. In 1960, John and Eileen purchased the farm in the Horseshoe Lake District, where Kevin and Sienna now live. John loved the farm and took off a total of sixty harvests. In later years, the couple was able to travel and spend their winters in Arizona. They spent their last years together in Red Deer, due to increasingly poor health. John was an honest, outgoing and hard working man. He was also a man of faith. John will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of seventy-two years, Eileen; children, Wilfred, Ron, Helen and Doris (Darci); beloved daughter-in-law, Cheryl, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Valane Hadley and children, Joseph and Ella; Layvon and Stephanie Hadley, and sons, Stephen and Beau; Jill and Jeff Miller and children, Jayden, Jude and Jovee; Shane and Megan Barrett and son, Aiden; Kevin and Sienna Kellar; Ryan Kellar and Julia Gauley; Catryna Kellar and Gage Shiels; Dallas Kellar; Ky and Taunya Kellar and children, Kyla and Kyron; Karla and Greg Pittman and children, Bretton and Brooklyn; Kearsten Hoffert and daughter, Lia.
