He leaves behind a plethora of close friends who shared many of his passions and valued his companionship. Brian was born on January 12, 1979 in Calgary and lived there for many years before moving to Ponoka where he graduated from Ponoka Composite High School (PCHS). Back in Calgary he worked as a chef – a career that he continued to pursue in Red Deer. In 2008 he took a position at Schlumberger and began skyrocketing to success. He earned the respect of his co-workers and superiors with his hard work ethic and blossoming intellect.
Brian had many passions including Street Fighter video gaming and Magic the Gathering card games where he was a competitive player worldwide participating in several top level tournaments. His infectious excitement extended to films, fast cars and bikes, marksmanship, food, travel and structures – tallest, coolest, shiniest buildings. Brian took pride in rebuilding and improving his body through vigorous exercise and a healthy diet/lifestyle.
Brian’s best traits were that he was methodical, passionate, responsible, extremely spontaneous, fun, curious, caring, loving and determined. He overcame very challenging obstacles and adversities that made him appreciate life and live life on a large scale. He never took life for granted and never gave up, always meeting expectations and deadlines early. He gave his all in everything he tackled.
Brian had a remarkable relationship with his four grandparents. They had a profound effect on his development, shaping his personality and supporting him in good times and bad. They defined unconditional love for him.
