Lloyd Nelson Rue

Lloyd was born in Young, SK and passed away peacefully on September 4, 2019 just shy of his 90th birthday. Lloyd made his way in life working hard at whatever he did, whether it was farming, home construction, autobody, or his spruce tree nursery. He was a man of many talents … a love for anything new and progressive, or for preserving history (antique cars and tractors were his favourites). He showed a great love for animals, and never ran out of things to fix or be curious about. Lloyd is survived by his 4 children; Allan (Maureen), Bev (Chuck), Myrna (Doug) and Harvey (Holly); 4 grandchildren, Shaun, Michael, Amy and Megan; 3 step-grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Garry (Gladys) and sister, Doreen. Lloyd was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen. A special Thank You to the nurses, care planners and health care aides for the care and support that was given to Lloyd. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Deer Park Alliance Church, 2960 – 39 St., Red Deer AB on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation, 202, 11227 – Jasper Ave Edmonton AB T5K 0L5 or to the C.N.I.B., 4, 5015 – 48 St. Red Deer AB T4N 1S9.
