Richard William Foesier, better known as Dick, will be dearly missed by his wife Jean, daughter Leanne (Paul), son Rick (Chantelle) grandchildren Kristen (David), Brett (Melissa), McKenna, Jaxin, Maddix, Kaiya and his very special dog Molly.
Dick was born June 16, 1944 in Turner Valley, Alberta to Jack and Muriel Foesier. He was the sixth child of ten. The family moved to their farm in Caroline in 1951 where Dick attended school.
Dick was known as the mischievous and fun-loving brother who always kept things interesting in the family. Later in life he would always do whatever he could for his sisters and brothers.
In 1972 Dick married Jean Jahnke and they had two children, Leanne and Rick. He loved his wife Jean very much. He was devoted to his family and worked very hard all of his life to provide for them.
Dick loved operating cranes and began his career in 1970. He achieved his Crane and Hoisting Operator Journeyman Certificate in 1974. He had a keen eye and precise touch for making lifts and was highly respected in his field. In 1994 Dick achieved his Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Red Seal certification from Red Deer College. 2019 marks the 50th year that he has been a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
In 1979 the family moved to the Kevisville area where Dick and Jean have spent the last 40 years. Dick was an active and well-regarded member of the Caroline Elks and the Gwendale Elks. He joined Raven Rural Crime Watch in the early 1990s and later became president. He was very passionate about this organization. Dick also enjoyed helping Santa out at Christmas time and loved to be Santa Claus at many events during the holiday season. He was very involved in his community at various activities and events, and would drop everything to help out a friend or neighbour in need.
The loss of Dick has left an enormous void in our family and community. He will be missed dearly.
